Guardian – 6 November 1982
"Our possession of the Bomb can change very little. Our renunciation could change the climate of the world," declares James Cameron in the same edition (November 2) of your paper as that reporting the KGB's latest act of repression against the only genuine Russian peace organisation.
Instead of continually parroting such bland and fatuous generalisations, Mr Cameron and his CND cronies would be far more effective in quietening the doubts of cynics like myself by specifically identifying which of the following nuclear or near-nuclear powers they expect to disarm in response to unilateral renunciation by this country: the Soviet Union? The United States? France? China? South Africa? India? Israel? Iraq? Or Argentina?
