On my website, www.julianlewis.net, is a section called 'Terry Scriven’s Antics'. This sets out in full – mostly outside Parliamentary privilege – his activities which led me to ciriticise him in Parliament (report, April 30).

These include:

• Openly supporting my campaign to protect MPs’ home addresses, whilst privately working with the journalist campaigning to reveal them

• Demanding that I be criminally investigated by Hampshire Police for the way I registered to vote, even though this had been approved by the Electoral Registration Officer

• Writing to the heads of MI5 and MI6, demanding to know if I have ever worked for these secret agencies; and

• Initiating a story in the News of the World which falsely claimed that I 'hardly visit' my home in the constituency when I have lived there continuously for over a decade.

As I said in Parliament, I and my solicitor have repeatedly invited Mr Scriven to explain and justify such behaviour, personally attacking me behind my back; but he always refuses to answer any questions – except by claiming that I am trying to 'intimidate' him by asking them.
